Are Private Donations Being Solicited?

Does the City of San Antonio – Municipal Government plan to solicit private donations for the for the arts and parks aspect, as they did for the Tobin Land bridge that connects Hardberger East and West parks?

What will the “affordable housing” angle look like?

Granted, one contributing factor to the artificially high cost of housing these days is loose money from Washington D.C. Nevertheless, more government activism on any level is likely to exacerbate the situation, which leads to another question.A $1.2B bond proposal, but property taxes stay as-is?

The total revenue brought in by that seizing of private property is 1/3 the bond total, but council can’t even offer a measly exemption?

Moreover, in the unlikely event that the council ever did the right thing, #abolishpropertytaxes, do they think taxpayers will simply stuff the savings under the mattress, rather than go shopping and add to the sales tax take?

Better yet, do none entertain the possibility that some property owners would redirect those resources, no longer commandeered by government, into wealth/job-creating enterprises, which would then throw off even more sales tax revenue?

For the council member that tells me they “support business,” they sure have a funny way of showing it.
