InfuseSA in the Community: 2 Girls & A Cake

Owner Brittany Reyna, InfuseSA Special Needs Outreach director Connie Aescht and co-owner Gogo Ham

This week’s shout-out goes to a family-owned-and-run business, Two Girls & A Cake

Brittany Reyna started it in 2012 under the name Baby E Sweet Sweets.  She got the idea from a gift she received; a cake full of glitter and decadence.  She started baking her own, promoting them in part by handing out free samples to potential customers.  Longtime friend and DJ at Tejano 97.5 Johnny Ramirez gave them a plug when he was at 105.7 KXTN, and their networking with the community took off.

A couple years later, she gave her mother Gogo Ham a slice as co-owner.  Mom, being a creative and decorative baker in her own right, brought with her yet more connections.  As a result, Two Girls & A Cake was born.

Along the way, they have been very active fundraisers, notably for special-needs children, Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA), et al.  They were also involved with the Tejano Music Awards in 2016 and 2017, the Selena 25th Anniversary, and the Emilio Navaira Lifetime tribute.

What gives them the greatest thrill is baking for momentous family celebrations.  Birthdays, engagement and wedding cakes, baby showers and gender reveals, etc.

Unfortunately, they were not immune to governments’ heavy-handed approach to dealing with the coronavirus/COVID-19.  They made the most of it though, by upgrading their flavors, perfecting their buttercream recipe, etc.

To paraphrase one of their slogans, they made life a little sweeter for those who attended InfuseSA’s mixer at Ida Claire recently.  Ring them up; they’d like to do the same for you.
