Looking Back at 2022
Wow, what a year!
San Antonio has gone through a lot since the beginning of 2022, let alone since the inception of InfuseSA. For any of our readers who may have missed a few of the stories or events we’ve covered, we present this Year in Review.
If you have been able to keep up with us daily, this is the perfect opportunity to reflect on how the year went for the city and you, its citizens.
In January alone we published four articles, three of which addressed the poor quality of some of the other media and news organizations servicing San Antonio, notably the San Antonio Express-News and KSAT. The party didn’t stop there though, as our final take of the month, “Are City Leaders’ Priorities in Good Enough Order to Justify More Bond Debt?,” covered some poor, and frankly outrageous spending habits and misplaced priorities of our City Council.
That last one in particular was the first link in a much bigger chain of city oversight, overreach, and overspending. On our website, we have well over ten write-ups that cover city government and what can only be described as its seemingly routine, and progressively more dangerous shenanigans.
A brief outline of the topics we covered:
- Covid response, and their obscene spending to fix it.
- Outlandish (sometimes dishonest) bond proposals.
- General misuse of budgeted funds.
- We even covered their “RonAnaBravo Triangle”!
These are just some quick picks of the city government pieces we ran. We also covered a multitude of other issues that you the reader care about. Crime, city migrant issues, property taxes, etc. The list goes on!
In September, October, and November we analyzed rising crime, and CoSA’s response to it. We also covered the controversial topics of the Migrant Resource Center, human trafficking, and the impact illegal immigration has on the city.
It wasn’t all bad news though.
For every piece with sinister undertones, we recognized valuable members of our community; small business owners. InfuseSA did a plethora of “In the Community” telling their stories. We also gave back through our workshops, servicing taxpayers through education on topics like city bonds, property taxes, and helping the deaf community navigate personal finance and wills.
Overall, it was a rocky year for the city. However, with new initiatives like Vote Local and our continued efforts to accomplish our mission of advancing personal and economic freedom for ALL citizens of Bexar County, we hope to bring you much more in the coming months and years.
As always, we hope you had a great holiday season, and we can’t wait to see you all next year!
