… or Property Taxes

When you go shopping, what do you generally (key word) get taxed on? Non-necessities, and even then, only once.

The Texas legislature has sent property tax “relief” to the governor’s desk. The average homeowner can expect an average of $500 in savings.  That’s good, except for one thing that we are ALL aware of: valuations.

The value of our homes is based on phony data (the value of the dollar) coming out of Washington D.C.  Our power to change that is less than it is to change things locally.

The final nail in the coffin would be to erase the ability, found in the Texas Constitution, of localities to levy ad valorem taxes.  In the meantime, press the City of San Antonio and Bexar County.

If they have time and resources for bad ideas like Project Marvel, poorly performing programs like Ready to Work, etc., then there is PLENTY of room to cut their respective % RATES of taxing.
